Traditional Ceremonial Cacao Recipe

Light meditation dose: 0.5-0.7oz/15-20g Ceremonial dose: 1-1.5oz/28-40g. 

1 cup hot water

Optional: can substitute water for plant based milk, a pinch of cinnamon, cayenne pepper, or vanilla extract, sweetener to taste (honey, maple syrup, or coconut sugar), cardamom

Instructions:

  1. Heat the water or milk until hot but not boiling.
  2. Add the cacao paste or granules and stir until fully dissolved.
  3. Sweeten to taste and add any optional spices.
  4. Blend or whisk for a frothy texture.
  5. Pour into a mug, set your intention, and enjoy.

Cacao Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon ceremonial cacao grounded
  • 1 cup plant based milk or milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  • A handful of ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy.

Cacao Bliss Balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dates, pitted
  • 1/2 cup almonds or walnuts
  • 1/4 cup ceremonial cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: shredded coconut, chia seeds, or hemp seeds for coating

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, blend the nuts until finely ground.
  2. Add the dates, cacao powder, coconut oil, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Process until the mixture comes together.
  3. Roll the mixture into small balls.
  4. Optional: Roll the balls in shredded coconut, chia seeds, or hemp seeds.
  5. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Cacao Chia Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 cup milk base or plant based milk
  • 1 tablespoon ceremonial cacao grounded
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the almond milk, cacao powder, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  2. Stir in the chia seeds until well combined.
  3. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes, then stir again to prevent clumping.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  5. Serve chilled, topped with fresh fruit or nuts.

Cacao Elixir

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon ceremonial cacao grounded
  • 1 cup hot water or plant-based milk
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or ghee
  • 1/2 teaspoon maca powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ashwagandha powder (optional)
  • Sweetener to taste (honey, maple syrup, or stevia)

Instructions:

  1. Heat the water or milk until hot but not boiling.
  2. Add the cacao and stir until fully dissolved.
  3. Add the coconut oil or ghee and any optional superfood powders.
  4. Sweeten to taste and blend for a creamy texture.
  5. Pour into a mug and enjoy.

Cacao Overnight Oats

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon ceremonial cacao grounded
  • 1 cup milk base
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Toppings: fresh berries, nuts, coconut flakes, or cacao nibs

Instructions:

  1. In a jar or bowl, combine the oats, cacao, milk base, chia seeds, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  2. Stir well to combine.
  3. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  4. In the morning, stir the oats and add your favorite toppings.
  5. Enjoy cold or warm up slightly before eating.
